Head honcho at McStorytellers, the ever busy Brendan Gisby, assures me that Cowboys will be made welcome to the site, much as any other genre is. I punted Zachary Bleu to the few Western Novel publishers I could find on the net, and, quite apart from being quoted outrageous costs for taking it on, was given little or no encouragement without them so much as reading a word. I'm used to that sort of attitude, as I suppose we all are to a certain extent, so I'm absolutely delighted that McStorytellers put no such obstacles in my way and offered an uncomplicated path to publication and, hopefully, world domination of the Western genre.
Besides Zachary Bleu, I have other publications under the McStorytellers umbrella which, but for the patience and guidance of Brendan, would still be languishing in a corner of my computer and seeking the light of day. The initial aim of most writers is to be published. I say most writers but there are many out there who prefer to hide their own particular light under the nearest bushel. I would encourage them to open up to the possibility that some of us might like to read and investigate their work.
I don't have the wherewithal to self-publish, nor would I have the patience, so the kindness shown to me by McStorytellers has lifted a huge burden from my shoulders. I hope you will all continue to contribute to the site, thus keeping my interest and enjoyment, and of course that of the many visitors who now return through something of a habit. Not a bad habit to own up to really. Thank you, Brendan, and thank you McStorytellers all.
